Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino tried to justify the unprecedented use of the Emergencies Act by claiming the freedom convoy was dangerous and unsafe. He even went as far as claiming there were threats of rape.
CPC MP Raquel Dancho asked Mendicino why she could walk through the freedom convoy on a daily basis if the government’s claims were true.
Anyone who was there, or watched any of the hundreds of hours of live streaming, knows Mendicino's description of the behaviour and activities of the Ottawa protesters is a gross exageration and is not based on any form of reality.
